Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a message.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
